After installing Omnibus Owl from the Shopify App Store, the app opens a short onboarding page — **"Set up Omnibus Owl"**. It takes about 5 minutes, and you can return to it any time via **Open installation** on the app's [home page](/omnibus-owl/getting-started/app-dashboard.md). ## Pick your features The top of the page lists the app's features as tiles. Tick the ones you need and the page shows setup steps only for those; **Skip for now** hides a feature's steps again. You can pick **Omnibus Lowest Price**, **Product Safety (GPSR)**, **Withdrawal Button** and **Green Transition**. The Omnibus Lowest Price tile also notes that it covers the [anchored price](/omnibus-owl/core-features/anchored-price.md) required in Croatia — that is switched on later from its Settings tab, not during onboarding. Opening the guide from a feature's **Set up** button pre-selects that feature. Steps that take you to another page of the app — adding manufacturers, assigning products, the refund policy wording, languages, GARAN products — open in a new tab and are ticked as soon as you open them, so the guide keeps its place and its theme checks. The Product Safety steps are: add at least one manufacturer, add the **Product Safety** block to your product template (Enable → Verify), then turn the storefront display on and assign your products. The Withdrawal Button steps are: enable the **Withdrawal Button** app embed (Enable → Verify), turn the withdrawal function on, then mention the function in your refund policy using the wording the app suggests. Details in [Withdrawal Button](/omnibus-owl/core-features/withdrawal-button.md). The Green Transition steps are: enable the **Legal Guarantee Notice** app embed (Enable → Verify), turn the notice on, then check the link label and texts for each of your storefront languages. Details in [Green Transition](/omnibus-owl/core-features/green-transition.md). {% hint style="info" %} You can skip this setup entirely if you only plan to use the **Price Drop** or **Price Increase** [Shopify Flow triggers](/omnibus-owl/integrations/shopify-flow.md) and don't need the storefront widget. {% endhint %} ## Step 1 — Confirm your compliance settings The first step summarises how the widget will behave — for example *"Selling into the EU · 30-day lowest price · Show on discounted products"*. Click **Edit** to change the reference window or choose whether the price line appears on all products or only discounted ones. These are the same options described in the [Settings reference](/omnibus-owl/reference/settings.md). ## Step 2 — Add Omnibus Owl to your theme The app needs two theme pieces to display the price line. Both are added from the Shopify theme editor and Omnibus Owl detects them automatically. 1. **Pick your theme.** Use the theme dropdown to choose which theme to set up. Your live theme is labelled **(Live)**. 2. **Enable the app embed ("Price Radar").** This loads the app on your storefront. Click **Enable** to open the theme editor with the embed ready to switch on, then **Save**. The embed is invisible on its own — it powers the widget behind the scenes. 3. **Add the "Past Lowest Price" block to your product page.** Click **Enable** to open the theme editor with the block ready to drop into your product template, position it near the price, and **Save**. Click **Verify** to re-check. Step 2 turns green only when **both** the app embed and the price block are detected. {% hint style="success" %} Verification is live — Omnibus Owl actually reads your theme files each time you open the page, switch themes, click **Verify**, or return to the browser tab. The green checkmarks always reflect the true current state of your theme. {% endhint %} ### What if my theme doesn't support app blocks? If you can't place the block manually, Omnibus Owl can inject the price line automatically at a CSS selector you specify. Contact support and we'll help configure it for your theme. ## Step 3 — What happens next Once the theme is set up, there's nothing more to do. Omnibus Owl starts recording every price change immediately. After 30 days you'll have a full price history, and the block will display the lowest price automatically whenever you run a sale. Click **Complete setup** to finish and go to your [home page](/omnibus-owl/getting-started/app-dashboard.md). ## Turn on price monitoring Price monitoring is what records your price history. Confirm it's **Active** on the dashboard's **Price Monitoring** card — see [Price monitoring & dashboard](/omnibus-owl/core-features/price-monitoring.md).
