Quickstart

Create your first automation and see credit land on a real customer account.

This gets you from a fresh install to a working cashback rule. Everything here can be refined later.

Create a cashback rule

1

Start a new automation

From the app home page, click Add automation, then choose Order value — a rule that runs whenever an order is paid.

You can also click Browse all templates and start from a ready-made rule such as 5% cashback or Spend $100, get $10. Templates fill in the form for you and can be edited before saving.

2

Name it

Give the rule a title your team will recognise later, for example 2% cashback on all orders. The title appears in the automations list and in run history.

3

Set the reward

In the Reward card:

  • Credit type — Percentage

  • Percentage — 2

  • Calculation base — leave it on Amount before discounts, or pick Amount after discounts to reward only what the customer actually paid

  • Applies to — All products

4

Choose who qualifies

In the Eligibility card, leave All customers selected.

Leave the minimum and maximum purchase amounts empty so every order qualifies.

5

Save and activate

Click Save. The rule is created inactive.

Open the automations list and switch its status to Active. Only active rules run.

Test it

  1. Place an order on your store with a customer account attached — not a guest checkout.

  2. Mark the order as paid.

  3. In Stork Credit, open the automation and click the Runs tab.

  4. A run appears within seconds, showing the credit issued and whether the criteria were met.

  5. Open the customer in the Shopify admin. Their store credit balance reflects the reward.
