Shopify Flow templates

Seven ready-to-import Shopify Flow workflows that issue store credit, with what each one does and what to change before you turn it on.

These are complete Shopify Flow workflows built around the Stork Credit Add Store Credit action. Download one, import it into Flow, adjust the amounts to suit your store, and turn it on.

If you'd rather build a workflow from scratch, see Shopify Flow.

Importing a template

1

Download the file

Click the download link for the template you want. It saves a .flow file to your computer. If your browser shows the file as text instead of downloading it, right-click the link and choose Save link as.

2

Import it into Flow

In your Shopify admin, open Flow, click Import, and choose the file you downloaded.

3

Adjust it

Open each step and change the amounts, tags and expiry to suit your store. The sections below list what to check in each template.

4

Turn it on

Imported workflows start switched off. Turn the workflow on once you're happy with it, then test it with a real event before relying on it.

Stork Credit must be installed on the store you import into, because every template uses its Add Store Credit action.

Welcome credit for new accounts

Download Store_Credit_welcome_credit_for_new_accounts.flow

Gives new customers a starting balance to spend on their first order.

  • Starts when: a customer is created in your store.

  • Checks: the customer is subscribed to email marketing.

  • Issues: 10 in store credit, expiring 30 days later.

Before you turn it on

  • The Currency field is set to USD. Change it to your store's currency code if you don't sell in US dollars.

  • Shopify creates a customer for anyone who subscribes, checks out or is added by your staff, not only for people who register an account. Add further conditions if you want to narrow who qualifies.

Spend threshold reward

Download Store_Credit_spend_threshold_reward.flow

Rewards larger orders with credit towards the next one.

  • Starts when: an order is paid.

  • Checks: the order subtotal is 200 or more.

  • Issues: 10 in store credit, expiring 60 days later.

Before you turn it on

  • Change the subtotal in the condition and the amount in the action to match your own offer.

  • If you already run an order-value automation for the same orders, customers will receive both rewards.

Bonus credit on tagged products

Download Store_Credit_bonus_credit_on_tagged_products.flow

Rewards customers for buying specific products, such as a new range or stock you want to clear.

  • Starts when: an order is paid.

  • Checks: at least one product in the order has the tag bonus-credit.

  • Issues: 10 in store credit, expiring 90 days later.

Before you turn it on

  • Add the bonus-credit tag to the products that should earn the reward, or change the tag in the condition to one you already use.

  • The credit is issued once per order, however many tagged products it contains.

Lifetime spend milestone

Download Store_Credit_lifetime_spend_milestone.flow

Thanks your best customers once, when their total spend with you passes a milestone.

  • Starts when: an order is paid.

  • Checks: the customer's lifetime spend is 1,000 or more, and they don't already have the tag stork-1k.

  • Issues: 25 in store credit with no expiry, then adds the tag stork-1k to the customer.

The tag is what stops the reward repeating. Each customer receives it once, on the first paid order after they reach the milestone.

Before you turn it on

  • Change the milestone and the amount to suit your store.

  • If you change the tag, change it in both the condition and the Add customer tags step, or customers will be rewarded on every order.

  • To run several milestones, import the template again and give each copy its own milestone, amount and tag.

VIP tag reward

Download Store_Credit_VIP_tag_reward.flow

Issues credit the moment a customer is tagged as a VIP, whether your staff add the tag or another app does.

  • Starts when: tags are added to a customer.

  • Checks: one of the added tags is VIP.

  • Issues: 20 in store credit with no expiry.

Before you turn it on

  • Change VIP in the condition to the tag your store uses. The match is exact.

  • If the tag is removed from a customer and added again, they receive the credit again.

Apology credit for cancelled orders

Download Store_Credit_apology_credit_for_cancelled_orders.flow

Says sorry with credit when an order is cancelled for a reason that wasn't the customer's choice.

  • Starts when: an order is cancelled.

  • Checks: the cancellation reason is Items unavailable or Payment declined.

  • Issues: 10 in store credit with no expiry.

Before you turn it on

  • Orders cancelled for any other reason are ignored, including those the customer cancelled. Edit the condition if you want to cover different reasons.

  • The credit is on top of any refund. This workflow does not refund the order.

Win-back credit

Download Store_Credit_win-back_credit.flow

Gives lapsed customers a short-lived reason to come back.

  • Starts when: once a day, at a scheduled time.

  • Finds: customers who are subscribed to email marketing and whose most recent order was 90 days ago.

  • Issues: 10 in store credit to each of them, expiring 14 days later, then adds the tag winback-credit to the customer.

Before you turn it on

  • The schedule is set to 9:00 am Melbourne time. Open the trigger and set your own time and time zone.

  • Each run handles up to 100 customers. If more than 100 of your customers could qualify on a single day, raise the limit in the Get customer data step.

  • The tag is there so you can find or segment these customers. It doesn't stop a customer receiving the credit again if they order, then go quiet for another 90 days.

Telling customers about their credit

The Add Store Credit action does not send Shopify's store credit email, so none of these templates notify the customer on their own. Add an email step after the action if you want customers to know they've been rewarded. See Notifications.

Plan limits

Credit issued by these templates counts towards your plan's monthly Flow credit allowance. See Plan limits.
