Plans & billing
Stork Credit's plans, what each one includes, and how billing works.
Manage your plan from Plans in the app navigation.
Choosing a plan when you install
The first time you open Stork Credit, the Plans page is shown before anything else and you'll need to pick a plan before the rest of the app opens. It's step 1 of a two-step setup — the second step is a short question about how you plan to use store credit.
Choosing Continue on Free is a real choice, not a trial you have to escape. Free stays free indefinitely, and you can move up or down later from Plans at any time.
Paid plans start with a free trial where one is offered — the plan's button tells you how long, and the line beneath it tells you the date you'd first be charged. You approve the charge through Shopify, and you're returned to the app once it's confirmed.
Switching between monthly and annual
The Monthly / Annual switch above the plan cards changes every paid plan at once, and the switch labels the saving annual billing gives you. The Free plan has no annual price, so it's unaffected by the switch.

How the limits work
Automation types
Order value automations work on every plan. Scheduled, Spend Threshold, and Store Credit Reminders rules are paid features: on Free they appear in the Add automation picker with an Upgrade to activate button instead of a link, and an existing rule of one of those types can't be activated until you upgrade.
Reports and exports
Reports and credit exports are a paid feature. On Free, opening Reports takes you to the Plans page instead — including the direct link to generate a new report. Reports you generated on a paid plan are kept and are reachable again as soon as you upgrade. Reports don't count against any usage limit on a paid plan.
External triggers
External triggers — your store's private webhook endpoint — are a paid feature. On Free, opening External triggers takes you to the Plans page. Your endpoint and its secret are kept while you're on Free, and start accepting requests again when you upgrade.
Referral codes
Referral codes are a paid feature. They work on every Shopify plan with the Referral Code theme block and the Referral Code block on the Thank you page. The Referral Code checkout block needs a store on Shopify Plus. On Free, opening Referral codes takes you to the Plans page. The codes themselves are kept, but the theme and checkout blocks reject every code, and the Thank you page block is hidden, until you upgrade. Customer-tag eligibility on order-value rules works on every plan, so a rule can still reward customers who already carry a referral tag.
Shopify Flow credit
The Stork Credit Flow action works on every plan, including Free. Each plan includes up to $1,000 of store credit issued through Flow per billing period, in your store's currency.
Your usage against that allowance is shown on the home page in the Plan & usage card, as Flow credit issued.
Active automations
The cap counts automations with status Active. Inactive rules don't count, so you can keep any number of drafts and seasonal rules parked.
Deactivating a rule frees its slot immediately. A one-shot scheduled automation deactivates itself after it runs, releasing its slot automatically.
CSV import rows
Checked against the file's data rows before an import starts. An oversized file is rejected outright, with nothing credited — so you can't half-import a file and lose track of where it stopped.
Split the file or upgrade. See CSV import.
Monthly limits
CSV imports and reminder emails are counted per billing period and reset when a new period starts:
On a monthly plan, usage resets on the day Shopify bills you for the next month.
On an annual plan, usage resets every month on the day of the month you subscribed.
On the Free plan, usage resets every month on the day of the month you installed the app (or last changed plan).
The home page's Plan & usage card shows the exact date your usage resets next, how many days are left, and your usage against each limit.
CSV imports — every file you upload counts as one import, whether or not it finishes. When the period's allowance is used up the Start Import button is disabled until the reset date, or until you upgrade.
Reminder emails — each email sent by a Store Credit Reminders automation counts. A run that starts with nothing left is skipped; a run that hits the cap mid-way stops and records the rest as skipped.
Store Credit Alert emails count toward the same allowance. They're sent by automations set to use the Stork Credit email. When the allowance runs out, those customers get Shopify's store credit email instead, and their credit is still issued. Shopify's email never counts toward the allowance.
Flow credit — the total value of store credit issued by the Stork Credit Flow action, shown against your plan's allowance. Not applied automatically (see above).
Changing plans mid-period doesn't clear what you've already used: the new plan's cap applies to the usage counted so far, and the reset date moves to match the new plan's billing period.
Billing
Billing runs through Shopify. Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice — Stork Credit never handles your card details.
Changing plans takes effect immediately.
Moving down to Free cancels the active charge.
Development and Partner test stores are never charged, and always create test charges.
If a plan won't start
Occasionally Shopify declines to start a subscription — most often on a store that can only take test charges, when an existing charge can't be replaced, or when the plan was changed while the page was open. The Plans page stays where it is and shows a red banner with the reason Shopify gave.
What happens on the Free plan
Free is a real plan, not an expiring trial. Nothing switches off on a timer.
If you're on a paid plan with more than one active automation and move down to Free, the extra automations stay in place but the limit applies to activating new ones. Deactivate rules until you're within the cap to regain room to work.
Scheduled, Spend Threshold, and Store Credit Reminders rules, your external trigger endpoint, and any reports you've generated are all kept too — you just can't activate those rules, receive trigger requests, or generate new reports until you're back on a paid plan.
