Customers' Store Credit report

Export every customer who holds store credit, with their current balance in each currency, as a CSV file — emailed to you and downloadable from the app.

Shopify's customer export doesn't include store credit. This report fills that gap: it lists every customer with a store credit balance and how much they hold, so you can reconcile liabilities, audit balances after a migration, or build a list for a win-back campaign.

Find it under Reports in the app navigation.

What the file contains

One row per customer per currency. A customer holding credit in two currencies appears on two rows. Accounts with a zero balance are left out.

Column
Description

customer_id

The customer's Shopify ID

email

The customer's email address

first_name

First name

last_name

Last name

currency

Currency of the store credit account (e.g. USD)

balance

Current balance of that account, in that currency

customer_id,email,first_name,last_name,currency,balance
8123456789,john@example.com,John,Smith,USD,50.00
8123456789,john@example.com,John,Smith,EUR,12.50

Balances are read at the moment the report is generated. A report is a snapshot, not a live view.

Generating a report

  1. Open Reports and click Generate on the Customers' Store Credit card (or New report).

  2. Choose which customers to include — see below.

  3. Leave Send the CSV by email ticked and confirm the address (it defaults to your own). You can enter several addresses separated by commas, or untick the box to skip the email.

  4. Click Generate report.

The report is added to the Report history list, where you can watch its progress. Small stores finish in seconds; large stores can take a few minutes. You can leave the app while it runs.

Choosing customers

All customers with store credit (the default) includes every customer whose balance is above zero in any currency.

Customer query narrows the list with a Shopify customer segment query — the same language used by scheduled automations and Shopify's segment editor. Use Check query to confirm the syntax and see how many customers match before you generate. Customers that match the query but hold no store credit are still left out of the file.

Useful queries:

Goal
Query

Balances of 50 or more

store_credit_accounts MATCHES (balance >= 50)

Only one currency

store_credit_accounts MATCHES (currency = 'USD')

Customers with a tag

customer_tags CONTAINS 'vip'

Combine conditions with AND / OR. Each store_credit_accounts MATCHES (…) clause may only test one field, so use two clauses to filter on both balance and currency.

Getting the file

  • Email — the CSV arrives as an attachment from Stork Credit. Very large files (over about 9 MB) are sent as a download link instead.

  • Download — a Download button appears next to the finished report in Report history. Files stay available for 72 hours; after that the row shows Expired and you can generate a fresh report.

Limits

  • One report runs at a time per store. Wait for it to finish (or stop it) before starting another.

  • A report covers up to 10,000 customers. If your selection is larger, the report fails with a message asking you to narrow it — use a customer query to split the export.

  • Reports are a paid feature — on the Free plan, opening Reports takes you to the Plans page. Reports you generated on a paid plan are kept and are reachable again as soon as you upgrade. See plans & billing.

  • On a paid plan, reports don't count against any usage limit.

Stopping or deleting reports

Select a report in Report history and use Stop to cancel one that is queued or generating — nothing is emailed or saved. Delete removes finished reports and their files.
